Willis Lamar Hartley, age 83, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 under the care of Community Hospice at The McGraw Center in Jacksonville.
Mr. Hartley was born August 10, 1938 in Baxley, Georgia to the late Daniel Harvey Hartley and the late Mattie Estelle Gordon Hartley. He was a retired welder with Ferber Sheet Metal and a lifetime member of VFW 7909 Auxiliary. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Goosby, and a son-in-law, Kenneth Miller.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Frankie Hildebrand Hartley of Jacksonville; daughters & son-in-law, Connie Hartley of Jacksonville and Valarie & Gary Cannon of Keystone Heights, Florida; sisters & brother-in-law, Lucille Perry and Bonnell & Gene Doyle all of Baxley; and brother & sister-in-law, Eddie & Ann Hartley of Lyons, Georgia. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Baxley Church of God with Pastor Lamar Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Church of God Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Andy Hartley, Scott Crouse, Daniel Goosby, Randy Doyle, Bryan Perry, and Steven Wolfson.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
