Alvin V. Sellers

Alvin V. Sellers, age 93, of Baxley passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at his residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. 

 Mr. Sellers was born June 4, 1931 in Jeff Davis County to the late George Ernest Sellers and the late Edna Cain Sellers. He was a faithful member of Melton’s Chapel Church where he served with the Melton’s Chapel Men’s Group and went to Mexico to help build a church. Mr. Sellers also loved to sing in gospel quartets and was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Sellers was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Betty Reeves Sellers, sister, Bernice McLain and brother, Dewitt Sellers.

 Survivors include his children, Belinda Sellers, Karen (Buddy) Taylor, Dwain (Susan) Sellers, and Daren (Stephanie) Sellers, brother, Wilbur Sellers, grandchildren, Kacie Hulett, Candyce Sellers, Michael Sellers, Aryn Sellers, Callie Taylor, and Cole Taylor, and great grandchildren, Ashton Hulett, Chase Hulett, and Tripp Sellers. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

 Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Page officiating. Interment will follow in Melton’s Chapel Church Cemetery. 

 Active pallbearers will be Michael Sellers, Tripp Sellers, Aryn Sellers, Matthew Hulett, Ashton Hulett, and Chase Hulett. 

 Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
