Ann Bruce Craven

March 24, 1930 — July 19, 2015

Ann Bruce Craven, age 85, of Baxley died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at The Pavilion.

Mrs. Craven was born March 24, 1930 in Appling County to the late Carroll Elijah Bruce and the late Cecil Alice Bullard Bruce. She was a member of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for 60 years, was active in WMU, and worked in Vacation Bible School. She was retired from the Appling County Board of Education and was a member of the Appling Co. Retired Teachers. She was President of the Senior Class of 1947. Mrs. Ann was a faithful wife and loving mother. She is preceded in death by: brother, Dane Bruce, sister, Elaine B. Brooks, one infant sister, sister-in-law, Aldine Bruce Karnoutsis, and nephew, Robin Bruce.

Survivors include her husband, Tom R. Craven of Baxley; two daughters & sons in law, Beth and Gene Mann of Surrency and Emily and Wiley Thornton of Baxley; two sons & daughters in law, Tommy and Mary Kay Craven and Bruce and Brenda Craven of Baxley; one niece, Carol B. McClellan Lawrenceville; two nephews, Dane Bruce of Baxley and Mike Brooks of Kingman, Arizona; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. from Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Daniels and Rev. Jonathan Mann officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.

Interment will be in Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Jared Craven, Justin Alan Craven, John Andrew Craven, Cody Thornton, Allen Turner, Jody Arnold, Bryan Harrelson and Avery Turner.

Honorary Pallbearers are all friends in attendance.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
