Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Dean

Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Dean, age 77, of Baxley passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at Hospice of Satilla in Waycross.

Mrs. Dean was born May 28, 1946 in Appling County to the late Grove Edwin Thomas and the late Lavilla Lightsey Thomas. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and a retired Paraprofessional with the Appling County Board of Education. Mrs. Dean loved watching westerns, eating out and playing Bingo.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband, George Stanford Dean.

Survivors include her daughter, Summer Dean of Baxley; a stepson, Gregory Stanford Dean of Odum; sister, Peggy Fennell of Baxley; and a granddaughter, Anistan Clements of Baxley. Several nieces & nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown, Rev. Parker Roberts officiating and a eulogy by Delmus Hale.

Interment will follow in Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
