Bernon Waldo Sapp

November 19, 1933 — March 14, 2015

Bernon Waldo Sapp, age 81, of Baxley died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Sapp was born November 19, 1933 in Wayne County to the late Ralph Waldo Sapp and the late Rosa Lee Wilson Sapp. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Sapp was a veteran of the United State Air Force and former owner of Sapp Ford Company. He was Chairman of the Regional Development Commission, Baxley-Appling Development & Authority Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, VFW, Original President of Exchange Club and Charter Director for Wayne County Bank & Community Bank.

Survivors include his wife, Willoise B. Sapp of Baxley; 2 daughters & sons in law, Rhonda & Sam Herndon of Baxley and Donia & Craig Padgett all of Baxley; A son & daughter in law, Wally & Sandy Sapp of Baxley; 4 brothers, Dennis Sapp & Wayne Sapp of Baxley, Linton Sapp of Douglas and Leon Sapp of Jackson, South Carolina; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Meguair, Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. Robbie Tomberlin officiating. Mr. Sapp will lie in state one hour prior to funeral service.

Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center.

Active pallbearers are Steve Sapp, Zach Taylor, Steve Camp, Steve Collins, Benton Johnson, Brett Johnson & Bruce Benton.

Honorary Pallbearers are all friends in attendance & previous employees of Sapp Ford Company.



Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
