Betty Cook Hunter

July 28, 1944 — December 15, 2021

Betty Cook Hunter, age 77, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the University Hospital in Augusta.

Ms. Hunter was born July 28, 1944 in Moultrie, Georgia to the late Ernest Eugene Cook and the late Vera Mae Kelly Cook.  She retired from Wal-Mart and was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Cook.

Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Beth & Donnie Cockerham of Mt. Airy, NC; sons, David Roberson and Shayne & Jan Roberson both of Martinez; sisters & brothers-in-law, Veronica & John Jordan of Olympia, WA and Patricia & Paul Batovsky of Georgetown, TN; a brother & sister-in-law, Billy & Sue Cook of Thomaston. Thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and special friends, Pat Hunter of Baxley and Donna Cotton of Augusta also survived.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Nick Jarrell, Tyler Jarrell, Jerry “JC” Roberson, Mason Roberson, Matthew Roberson and Blake Spell.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
