Betty Marie Mccranie

Betty Marie McCranie, age 77, of Baxley died Thursday, June 30, 2016.

Mrs. McCranie was born October 31, 1938 in Glynn County to the late Paul Turner and Stella Whitten Turner. She was employed at Greenville Galleries in Greenville, Georgia and was the Chief Editor for The Glenn Reporter in Brunswick, Georgia. Mrs. McCranie was a friend to everyone. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeni Lowry Bennett and a brother, Jerry Eugene Turner.

Mrs. McCranie is survived by her husband, Mike McCranie of Baxley; three daughters, Joni Lowry Boatright of Brunswick, Tracy McCranie Culpepper and Patricia McCranie Tongson both of Columbus; two sisters, Paulette Turner Hayes & June Turner Guest both of Brunwick; brother, George Paul Turner, Jr of Townsend; 8 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Lightsey officiating.

Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick.

Active pallbearers are John Simmons, Glen Carter, Dale Davis, Terry Green, Terry Todd and Randall Reeves.

Honorary Pallbearers are Stanley Davis, Jimmy Davis, Glen McDaniel, Malcom Evans, Ned Deen and Norman Hayes.

Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
