Betty Jean Murray, age 78 of Baxley died Saturday, November 15, 2014.
Mrs. Murray was born October 17, 1936, in Appling County to the late Horace L. Mixon and the late Cora Rena Mixon. She was a member of Carter's Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lenton McLeighton.
Survivors include her husband, George Clarence Murray of Baxley; one daughter, Patricia Murray of Richmond Hill, GA; one son, Greg Murray of Baxley; one sister, Genora Martinez and four grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Monday, November 17, 2014, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Kersey and Rev. Darrel Quinn officiating.
Visitation - Sunday evening, November 16, 2014, 6:00-8:00 PM.
Active Pallbearers are David Kersey, Craig Bennett, Jerry Murray, Jeffery Murray, Dale Murray, and Jack Cooper.
Interment will follow in Memorial Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
