Betty Osteen

Betty Crosby Osteen, age 79, of Surrency, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.

Mrs. Osteen was born August 19, 1941 in Appling County to the late John Henry Crosby and the late Minnie Lee Shipes Crosby. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Osteen was preceded in death by her sons, Rusty Osteen and Lavan Osteen; three sisters, Bertha Aldridge, Jennett Crawford, and Dorothy Carter; and five brothers, J.B. Crosby, Ernest Crosby, Jackrel Crosby, Robert Crosby, and Albert Crosby.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Quinton Osteen of Surrency; grandchildren, Adam (Tiffany) Osteen of Surrency, Brittany (Thomas) Butler of Lumber City, and Lindsey (Brock) Ahl of Alma; great grandchildren, Jesse Osteen, Laynee Osteen, Kate Osteen, Mila Osteen, Adelyn Butler, and Ryan Butler; and sisters, Emma Lee Deloach and Willene Crosby, both of Baxley.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Thomas Kelly and Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Linton Deloach, Benji Deloach, Wayne Crosby, Henry Crosby, Raymond Crosby, and Greg Carter.

Remembrances may be made to Zion Missionary Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org).

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
