Betty June (Fossett) Todd

Betty June Fossett Todd, age 90, of Baxley passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 in the Pavilion.

Mrs. Todd was born June 18, 1931 in Appling County to the late J.B. Fossett and the late Rebecca Merrier Fossett. She was a homemaker, a devout Christian, prayer warrior and a loving mother. Mrs. Todd was an accomplished pianist and served as a church pianist from the age of twelve to the age of eighty five. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Rufus Shelton Todd, brother, James Fossett, sons-in-law, Wilton Carter, Keith Pearce and a granddaughter, Melodi Rose Pearce.

Survivors include her daughters & son-in-law, Sylvia Carter, Bonnie & Darrell Williams and Vickie Pearce all of Baxley; brother, Nickey (Amelia) Fossett of Alma; sister-in-law, Annie M. Fossett of Baxley; brother-in-law, Toby Todd of Vidalia.  Grandchildren, Todd (Robbin) Carter, Kim (Rusty) Knight, Tonya (Cory) Merritt, Robyn (Mary) Williams, Stacey Williams, fiancé, Wendy Carter, Regina (Eddie) Bridges & Keisha Whitley; great grandchildren, Ashton Rowland, Christian Whitley, Gabriel Whitley, Chandler (Beth) Jones, Mara Bridges, Whittnei (Mitchell) Bargstadt, Hailei (Trever) Cannon, K’leb (Julie) Williams, Alex Williams, Cameron (Brenda) Carter, Chance (Kimbrell) Carter, Annaleigh Carter, Angela (Boden) Eanes, Amanda (Joe) Emminizer, Christopher (Ciera) Shiver, Christin  (Josh)  Hatten, Caylee Shiver; great-great grandchildren, Savannah Eanes, Aspyn Eanes, Josiah Emminizer, Reven Emminizer, Nevaeh Shiver, Landon Boatright, Brooklyn Powell, Bixlei Bargstadt, Beckett Bargstadt, Benson Tighe, Aubrey Williams & 3 great-great-great grandchildren due.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Baxley Church of God with Rev. Lamar Lee and Rev. Mark Grimes officiating and eulogies by Robyn Williams and Stacey Williams. Mrs.Todd will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the Church.

Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Chance Carter, Cory Merritt, Landon Boatright, Chandler Jones, Trever Cannon, Mitchell Bargstadt and Gabriel Whitley.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and family in attendance.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s or Gideons International Appling Camp P.O. Box 403, Baxley, Ga. 31513.

Family will assemble at the home of Bonnie & Darrell Williams on 2528 Zoar Road, Baxley and Sylvia Carter on 2265 Ben Carter Road, Baxley.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
