Billy L. Altman, age 77, of Baxley died Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the Appling Healthcare System.
Mr. Altman was born July 16, 1938 in Appling County to the late Lotus J. Altman and the late Edna Morris Altman. He was a farmer and a member of Midway Baptist Church. Mr. Altman was a former member of Gold Kist Corp. , Appling County Young Farmers and the Appling County Stockmans Association.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years , Linda Sellers Altman; sons and daughters in law, Jeffery & Tina Altman and Mitch & Shan Altman; grandchildren, Seth Altman, Cole Altman and Stella Altman all of Baxley; extended family, Warren McDaniel of Baxley; sisters, Wanda A. Ammons and JoAnn A. Beecher both of Baxley; sister in laws, Welda Rush, of Jacksonville and Fannie Lee Sellers of Baxley; niece, Lisa and husband Glynnn Pearce of Baxley; nephews, Jim and wife Cathy Ammons of Baxley and Michael Beecher of Woodstock; 6 great nieces and nephews, 2 great great nieces and nephews and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 28, 2:00 PM at the chapel of Swain Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Williamson, Rev. Dewitt Corbin, Rev. Bill Vansant will officiate. Eulogy by Lisa Pearce.
Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.
