Billy Crews, Sr.

Billy Crews, Sr., age 76, of Baxley passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

Mr. Billy was born February 17, 1948 in Bacon County to the late Berry Crews and the late Lillian King Crews and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Billy was a quiet man and a loving husband and father. He dearly loved his country and his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Crews, Jr. and brothers, Tommy Crews and Charles Crews. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Johnson Crews of Baxley; daughter, Torrie Crapps of Baxley; sister, Azilee (Ronald) Thompson of Baxley; and brother, Benny (Freddie Ann) Crews of Baxley. Two grandchildren, Chad Crapps and Sumer Crapps; and three great-grandchildren, Alaina Crapps, Chad Crapps, Jr. and Brixton Bush also survive. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Bishop Randy Sellers and Pastor Agnes Sellers officiating. Interment will follow in Deen Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Austin Martin, B.J. Crews, Kevin Spivey, Terry Crosby, Larry Crosby and Austin Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends in attendance. 

A visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
