Charles Aldridge, age 82, of Baxley passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Pavillion.
Mr. Aldridge was born October 10, 1939 in Jesup to the late Corneilus Mitchell Aldridge and the late Maggie Lee Taylor Aldridge. He was a forest ranger for the Georgia Forestry Commission and a member of Friendship Congregational Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Bobbie Jean Carter and Mary Ruth Yawn.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ann Aldridge of Baxley; daughter, Vicky A. Taylor of Alma; sons and daughter-in-law, Mickey & Kristi Aldridge and Ricky Aldridge all of Baxley; sister, Guynell Lott of Alma; four grandchildren, Christopher (Erin) Aldridge, Shannon Aldridge, Matthew Taylor, and Cole Taylor; and four great grandchildren, Caden & Cason Aldridge, Anna Kay Lee, and Andrew Lee also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Ronnie Rentz and Rev. Steve Statum officiating. Mr. Aldridge will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Christopher Aldridge, Matthew Taylor, Cole Taylor, Randy Crummey, Toby Tanner, Neil Salter, Shannon Aldridge and David Kersey.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends in attendance.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
