Charles Allen Wilkes

Charles Allen Wilkes, age 77, of Lyons died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.
Mr. Wilkes was born August 5, 1938 in Lyons to the late Collie Wilkes and the late Mattie Louella Allen Wilkes. He was retired from the United States Navy and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Peterson Wilkes.
Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Charlene & Dr. Thomas Ferrari of Brooklet; son, Robert Wilkes of Vietnam; sisters, Jean W. Spell of Baxley, Wilda Jarrard of Alma, Elvyn Vickers of Jakin, & Ann Ford of Dexter; brother, Collie Wilkes, Jr. of Allenhurst; grandchildren, Austin Lundy & Gabriel Lundy
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Daniels and Rev. Brad Park officiating. Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery with full military honors.
Active Pallbearers are Dr. Tom Ferrari, Austin Lundy, Gabriel Lundy, Jacob Mack, Blake Spell and Danny Vickers.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
