Claire Harbin Tanner

Claire Harbin Tanner, age 71, of Baxley died Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

Mrs. Tanner was born May 31, 1945 to the late Hershel Lee Harbin and the late Ruth Claire Altman Harbin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served as the Church Organist for over 30 years, and she taught piano to countless children. Mrs. Tanner is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Marshall Tanner.

Mrs. Tanner is survived by her daughter & son in law, Tamela & Woody Folsom of Baxley; son & daughter in law, Jeff & Paula Tanner of Baxley; brother, Lee Harbin of Conyers; grandchildren, Payne Ivie, Pierce Tanner, Abbigayle Tanner, Tanner Folsom & Anna Kate Folsom.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Jordan & Rev. Robert Wigley officiating.

Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Jerome Murray, Clay Carter, Eddie Rentz, Jerry Norris, Handy Jernigan & Timmy Martin.

Honorary Pallbearers are First Baptist Church staff & past piano students.

Visitation is Saturday evening 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.

Remembrances may be made to the Harbin Fund c/o First Baptist Church 15 North Main Street, Baxley, Ga. 31513.
