Clara Coleman

Margaret Clara Wilson Coleman, age 94, of Baxley passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016.

Mrs. Coleman was born June 13, 1921 in Rising Fawn, Georgia to the late Walter Wilson and the late Maggie Highfield Wilson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baxley and worked faithfully for thirty-two years as a Child Care Supervisor for the Georgia Baptist Children's Home in Baxley, Georgia.

Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her husband, A. W. "Red" Coleman of Baxley, Georgia; two sisters, Jean W. Harrison of Rainsville, Alabama and Mary Nell W. Smith of Pensacola, Florida; three brothers, Spencer Wilson, Jack Wilson, and Jimmy Wilson all of Rising Fawn, Georgia.

Survivors include two sons, William David (Jane) Coleman and Steven A. (Bonnie) Coleman both of Baxley, Georgia; one sister Ruth W. Gross of Trenton, Georgia; two brothers, George Wilson of Rising Fawn, Georgia and Leslie Wilson of Chattanooga, Tennessee; six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 2:30 PM from Swain Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Wigley and Rev. Tommy Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at Swain Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers: Sam Coleman, Jim Coleman, Matt Coleman, Luke Coleman, Stephen Hale and Daniel Carter.

Honorary pallbearers: Faye Jones, Lenora Anderson, Stanley and Verlene Moody, Gerri Wiggins, Anu Reddy, Larry and Janey Britt, and Raylene Patton.

Remembrances may be made to Georgia Baptist Children's Home P. O. Box 329 Palmetto, GA 30268.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
