Clayton Dale Errett

Clayton Dale Errett, age 30, of Baxley died Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Appling Healthcare.

Clayton was born September 6, 1991 in Jeff Davis County and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He graduated from Appling County High School in 2010 and was a member of the Appling Applause Show Choir. He was a substitute teacher in the Bacon County School System and was in the Boy Scouts. Clayton loved his Lord, his family and his community. He was known for his contagious smile, loving spirit, and servant’s heart. He volunteered with Called to Love and was an avid Republican.

Clayton was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Ann Errett; maternal grandfather, Clayton Taylor; paternal grandparents, Raymond & Blanche Errett, and uncle, Darrell Taylor.

Survivors include his parents, Edward Ray “Eddie” and Linda Gail Errett of Baxley; brothers & sisters-in-law, Julius & Sarah Errett, Edward & Anita Errett, and Douglas & Shelby Errett all of Baxley; maternal grandmother, Peggy Taylor of Telico Plains, TN; aunt, Julia Cheeks of Telico Plains, TN; and uncle, Gary Taylor of Immokalee, FL. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 3:00p.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown, Rev. Danny Miller, and Rev. Doug Weisel officiating. Interment will follow in Appling Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Billy Davis, Chris Bryant, Bobby Clack, Sr., Jerry Barber, Eric Patterson, Josh Giddens, John Leggett, and Norman Farland.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of the Appling County School System, the Staff of the Bacon County School System, and all friends in attendance.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
