Curtis Ray Sapp, Sr., age 83, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in Union, South Carolina.
Mr. Sapp was born March 18, 1939 in Appling County to the late Walter Sapp and the late Maude Campbell Sapp. He was member of Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Bax-Steel Buildings before retiring from Hazlehurst Mills and Trucks, Inc. Mr. Sapp was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Helen Padgett Sapp; daughter, Renea Sapp; son, Jamie Sapp; brothers, Billy Sapp, Edward Sapp, and Buddy Sapp; great grandson, Gunner Mincey; and sister, Ginger Sapp.
Survivors include his son, Curtis Sapp of Blackshear; sisters, Betty (Billy) Perry of Baxley; sisters-in-law, Bernice (Zeno) Bryant of Baxley, Hazel Holton of Midway and Elaine (David) Martin of Alma; brothers-in-law, Edward (Tina) Padgett and Morris Padgett both of Alma. Five grandchildren, Wes Sapp, Jared Sapp, Dustin Mincey, C.J. Mincey and Lily Herrington; and three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Lee Lee & Stormy also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Daniels & Bishop Randy Sellers officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Rex Taylor, Kyle Butler, Richie McMillian, Will Martin, Dustin Mincey & C.J. Mincey.
Interment will follow in Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
