Darrell Dewayne Spell

Darrell Dewayne Spell, age 47, of Baxley died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the Appling Healthcare System.

Mr. Spell was born September 12, 1968 in Jeff Davis County to the late Melton Lawton Spell and the late Maedean Black Spell. He was a member of First Assembly of God and a former first responder of Appling Co. He was employed with AT&T and was President of Communication Workers of American Local 3209 of Brunswick. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawton & Hazel Spell and his father-in-law, E. J. Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Regena Kay Spell; daughter, Katlyn Kay Spell; son, Jared Dewayne Spell; sister, Cindy Lynn (Gene) Tucker; brothers, Ricky (Michele) Taylor, Danny (Sherry) Spell, and Randy (Becky) Spell; half-sister, Brandy (Steven) Braddy; mother-in-law, Doris Davis; father-in-law, C. E. Dyal; and brother-in-law, Curtis (Bert) Dyal. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Rentz and Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Melton's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Chris Dyal, Robert Byrd, Matt Coleman, Jeffery Simmons, Tadd Sharpe, Richard Lightsey, Keith Spell, & Ray Powell.

Honorary pallbearers are his co-workers of AT&T.

Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
