Debra Thornton

Debra Thornton, age 48, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.

She was born December 15, 1966 in Savannah, Georgia. Miss Thornton was a member of Melton's Chapel United Methodist Church. She attended Appling/Jeff Davis Service Center. Miss Thornton was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Alvin Thornton, Step Father, Robert W. Lewis, grandparents, Alvin Thornton, Mr. & Mrs. Alvin & Lorene Jones and a nephew, Jacob Thornton.

Survivors include her mother, Christine J. Lewis of Baxley; Brother & sister in law, Stacy A. & Tammy Thornton of Jesup; Step-sister, Diane Lewis of Nashville, TN; Step-brother, Larry & Jeannie Lewis of Baxley; Grandmother, Lois Thornton of Screven; Nephew, Chase Thornton, Step-niece, Luann & Brian Register, Step-great nephew, Brantley Register, many aunts, uncles & cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 15, 2015 from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Rushing, Rev. Dennie Waters & Rev. James Carter officiating.

Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Chase Thornton, Ken Jones, Steve Jones, Gary Pierce, Casey Jones, Michael Jones and Brandon Jones.

Honorary Pallbearers are staff & clients of Appling/Jeff Davis Service Center, Mrs. Eveline Peacock, Melton's Chapel Adult Sunday school Class & Youth Group.

Visitation will be Saturday evening 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
