Dinah Shore (Patterson) Smith

Dinah Shore (Patterson) Smith, age 78, of Baxley died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at her residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and sister.

Mrs. Smith was born February 9, 1943 in Seville, Florida to the late Leo James Patterson, Sr. and the late Sally Miles Patterson. Before retiring, she was a sales associate at BC Moore’s. She was a member of Big Oaks Church of God. Mrs. Smith was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Martin Smith, Jr.; brothers, William James Patterson, Robert Miles, Dewight Miles, Gary Dennis Patterson, and Leo James Patterson; and sisters, Dorothy Levine Wilson, Audrey Tanner, and Francis Waters.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Donna Marie & James Crosby of Baxley, and Debra Sue Griffis of Baxley; sons and daughter-in-law, Keliah & Velma Williams of Baxley, and Gary Dewayne Williams of Baxley; sister and brother-in-law, Annie Ruth & Randy Gilliam of Alabama; seven grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Big Oaks Church of God with Rev. Mark Grimes, Sister Virginia Herrington, and Apostle Corie Clements officiating.

Interment will follow in Appling Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Kevin Rewis, Daniel Williams, Brandon Rewis, Brandon Williams, James Ard, and Chris Faulk.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Comfort Care Hospice, Dr. Orlando Fernando and staff, and the Big Oaks Church of God Senior Adult Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home.
