Donald Harrelson

Donald Harrelson, age 69, of Baxley died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at his residence.


Mr. Harrelson was born February 24, 1946 in Appling County to the late Thomas Jefferson Harrelson and the late Frankie Gardner Harrelson. He was a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church where he served as the song leader for 13 years and served on the Building and grounds committee. Mr. Harrelson was a member of FFA String Band since 1964; Floyd Hunter's Band for 40 plus years, the Gospel Messengers Group, Songsmen Group and helped with Christmas in April. He was a Master Carpenter and served in the Georgia National Guard.


Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Morris Harrelson of Baxley; Four sons, Keith (Samantha) Morris of Tallahassee, Florida, Kenneth George Anderson, Ron Harrelson & Crystie Gruber and Don (Rhonda) Harrelson all of Baxley; Three sisters, Ingoll Faye (Herman) Sumner, June (Ronald) Bullard, Matilda (Paul) Deen all of Baxley; Three brothers, Wendell (Laura) Harrelson of Hazlehurst, Weldon Harrelson & Paul (Kay) Harrelson all of Baxley; Seven grandchildren Colby Morris of Lynchburg, VA, Faith Morris of Ludowici, Cameron Harrelson of Athens, Tyler Harrelson, Ariel Harrelson, Naomi Harrelson and Chandler Harrelson all of Baxley, three great grandchildren, six step grandchildren, fifteen nieces and nephews and thirty great nieces and nephews.


Funeral services are Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Hunter's Opry House. Interment will follow in the Zoar cemetery.

Visitation - Monday, January 4, 2016, 6:00-9:00 PM.
