Donald Leroy Stone

Donald Leroy “Donnie” Stone, age 54, of Hazlehurst passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at his residence. 

Donnie was born June 21, 1970 in Appling County to the late Eugene Stone, Sr. and the late Geneva Sherry Breeden Franks. He was a carpenter by trade and was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. He was a coin collector and enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Puggie” Smith.

Survivors include his companion, Tonia Morris of Hazlehurst; sisters, Connie (Eugene) Hand, Amy (Billy) Hughes, and Melissa Hall all of Hazlehurst and Judy (Stacy) Swanson of Fitzgerald; brothers, Eugene “PeeWee” (Tonya) Stone of Fitzgerald and James “Jimbo” (Gail) Davis and Kelly (Nora) Davis both of Hazlehurst; sister-in-law, Susan Creamer; and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Hunter Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery. 

Active pallbearers will be Duck Hyers, Colby Hughes, Andy Edge, Grover Edge, Josh Stone, and Justin Fisher. 

The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
