Donnie Harold Overstreet

Donnie Harold Overstreet, age 66, of Toombs County passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah following a brief illness.

Mr. Overstreet was born February 23, 1955 in Appling County to the late Evans Overstreet, Sr. and the late Cleo Jewel Yawn Overstreet. He retired from Iron Workers Union Local 709 of Savannah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Colon Wendell Overstreet and Jackie Overstreet, Sr. Donnie was an avid gardener. Anytime someone came to visit him they always left with vegetables he had grown. He was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed tending to his cattle and other animals as well as fishing and hunting, and he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help.

Survivors include his wife, LaDonna Sellers Overstreet of Lyons; his son, Miles Donnie Overstreet of Fernandina Beach, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Evans & Janell Overstreet, Jr. of Alma, Billy & Judy Overstreet of Cordele, Robert Dale Overstreet of Baxley, Tommy Dean Overstreet of Flintstone, Terrell “Terry” Eugene & Sharon Overstreet of Baxley, Bobby & Karen Overstreet of Hazlehurst, and Larry & Patrisa Overstreet of Surrency; sister, Betty Jo Overstreet Smith of Wasilla, AK; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Oak View Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Yawn and Elder Jerry Lightsey officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Price Williams, Glenn Smith, Ben Newton, Roger McDonald, Earl Beecher, and Charles Stone.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
