Doris Moore Mcmillan

It is with a sadden heart we announce the death of Doris Marie Moore McMillan age 88, of Baxley, GA who passed away after a sudden death.


She was a native of Lowndes County GA, Valdosta, and had lived in Baxley for the past 51 years after moving there with her husband, Harry (Mac) McMillan, and family. Mac and Doris lived at Eason's Bluff on the Altamaha River for over 31 years.


Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always had time for her family and friends. She was a member of the Zion Missionary Baptist Church.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harry "Mac" McMillan, her parents Elias and Kate Moore of Valdosta, GA, several siblings and a daughter-in-law, Barbara McMillan.


She is survived by her children Jack McMillan (Marianne) of Vidalia, GA, Steve McMillan of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Cathy Collins of Orlando, FA.


Grandchildren include Jennifer Coleman (Matt) of Baxley, GA, Jason McMillan (Renee) of Savannah, GA, Melissa Donahue of Vidalia, Kristofer Griffin (Brittany) of Port St. Lucie, FL and Summer McMillan of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. eleven great-grandchildren, one brother, Kenneth Moore (Nelma) of Naylor, GA, several nieces and nephews and many special friends.



Pallbearers are Jason McMillan, Kristofer Griffin, Matt Coleman, Bryce Branch, Baylee Coleman and Joe Donahue.


Funeral services for Doris McMillan will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Swain Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Wayne Williamson officiating and the ulogy given by Mary Ann McMillan.


Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.


Interment will follow at Omega Cemetery in Baxley, GA.


Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Missionary Baptist Church.


Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
