Doyle L. Loughren

Doyle L. Loughren, age 77, of Baxley died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Appling Healthcare System.

Mr. Loughren was born September 23, 1938 in Swainsboro to the late Grady Taylor and the late Sibyl Davis Loughren. As a boy, he lived in Ohio, and then he resided in New Jersey before returning to Appling County in 1970. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Mr. Loughren was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and was a retired Carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Loughren of Baxley; daughter, Sarah Smoak of West Lake, LA; son & daughter in law,Doyle Robert & Anne Loughren of Chattanooga, TN; sister & brother in law, Betty & Johnnie Copeland of Baxley; brother & sister in law, William & Jan Loughren of Avon, OH; granddaughter, Abby Noe'l Smoak of Baxley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Ben DeFore & Rev. Justin McLellan officiating.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers are Jamie Patterson, Herman Patterson, Tim Copeland, Jimmy Davis, Jerry Davis & Dale Davis.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
