Edgar Russell (Bo) Herndon, Jr

Edgar Russell (Bo) Herndon, Jr., 60, died Friday, September 6, 2013 at his residence.


Funeral services will be Monday, September 9, 2013 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church at 3:00 PM. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the funeral hour.


Interment: Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery - Screven, GA


Survivors: Spouse - Leigh Herndon of Baxley; Four daughters - Heather Ann Herndon, Ashley Ann Herndon, Whitney Lara (Christopher Leroy) Mincey and Keaton Leah Herndon all of Baxley; One son - Russell Eugene (Lori Michelle) Herndon of Surrency GA; Five sisters - LaWanda Ann Herndon, LaVanda Ann Carter, LaBronda Ann Merritt, LaRonda Ann Davis, and LaSonda Ann Wykle all of Baxley. Mr. Herndon is also survived by two grandchildren - Hayden Gwendolyn Upchurch and Dakota Ashilynn Mincey and a host of nieces and nephews.


Mr. Herndon was born Februrary 13, 1953, to the late Edgar R. Herndon, Sr. and the late Deloris Courson Herndon. He is also preceded in death by his wife Cheryl Ann Morris Herndon. He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and was employed by Akzo Nobel as Maintance Supervisor and was a former Chief of Police for the City of Baxley.
