Edna Lee Perry Tomberlin, age 90, of Olney, Maryland & formerly of Baxley, died Thursday, May 21, 2015.
Mrs. Tomberlin was born May 14, 1925 in Cordele, Georgia to the late Jack Perry and the late Suzie Whiddon Perry. She resided in Baxley most of her live, having lived in Olney, Maryland for the past thirteen years. Before her retirement, she was the office manager of Car Mart in Hazlehurst. She also was a former teller at Baxley State Bank, clerk at Veal's Department Store and secretary for the First United Methodist Church of Baxley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Ired Tomberlin; three brothers, E .J. Perry, Loma Perry, James Perry; & one sister, Letha Perry Tomberlin.
Survivors include her daughter, Polly Tomberlin Van Winkle of Olney, Maryland; granddaughter, Heather Van Winkle of Olney, Maryland; grandson, Brian (Susan) Van Winkle of Rockville, Maryland; Sister, Myrtle Perry Aycock of Tenille, Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Hugo Hammond, family friend of more than 50 years, & the Reverend Pete Aycock, nephew & son of Myrtle Perry Aycock, officiating. Interment will follow in the Omega Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Carroll Perry & Wayne Perry, sons of E.J. Perry; Earl Perry and Ronnie Perry, sons of Loma Perry; and James Tomberlin & Don Tomberlin, sons of Letha Perry Tomberlin.
Visitation will be Monday evening, 6-8 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
