Estel Hardy

Estel Hardy, age 64, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in Augusta. Mr. Hardy was born August 10, 1949 in Jeff Davis County to the late Albert Hardy and the late Mamie Johns Hardy. He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Hardy was owner of Hardy’s Trucking, Inc. He was preceded in death by 2 bothers, Albert Hardy, Jr., Johnny Hardy and a sister, Margarette Hardy. Survivors include his wife, Laverne Butler Hardy of Baxley; Daughter, Tammy Price of Jacksonville, Florida; A sister, Ann Hardy of Baxley. 2 grandchildren, Michael Peters, Matthew Vann and 1 great grandchild, Alexandrea Peters. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from the Church of God of Prophecy with the Pastor John Hutto, Pastor Lester Weldon officiating & a eulogy by Ezra Varnadore. Mr. Hardy will lie in state one hour prior to funeral service. Interment will follow in Appling Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers are Allen Stephens, Jeffery Hutcheson, David Shipes, Curtis Hardy, Kelvin Powell and Lee Price. Honorary Pallbearers are members of Church of God of Prophecy and all friends in attendance. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the family to help defray for medical expenses. Visitation will be Thursday evening 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Swain Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
