Eugene William Merier

January 8, 1949 — February 25, 2022

Eugene William Merier, age 73, of Waynesville passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 in the Southeast Georgia Health System-Brunswick Campus.

Mr. Merier was born January 8, 1949 in Coffee County to the late Sibbett Merier, Sr. and Athleen Fleming Merier.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Merier was owner & operator of Merier Automotive Works and was preceded in death by his brothers, Berry Merier and Sonny Merier.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Stone Merier of Waynesville; a daughter & son-in-law, Sabrina & Devin Wood of Waynesville; sisters-in-law, Joann Merier of Milen and Geneva (Jerry D.) Lightsey of Bristol.  Several nieces, nephews and other family members also survived.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Omega Cemetery with Rev. Bill Stone officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Swain Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Randall Moss, Jimmy Humphrey, Jack Aspinwall, David Clark, Bobby Bean and Kenny Dickerson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Edo Miller Funeral  Home in Brunswick.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
