Garry Mullis

August 11, 1957 — January 10, 2021

Garry Mullis, age 63, of Baxley died Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Bacon County Hospital in Alma.

Mr. Mullis was born August 11, 1957 in Bacon County to the late Richard Clayton Mullis and the late Lula Mae Nail Mullis.  He was a member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church and was a Security Officer for Southern Nuclear at Plant Hatch.  Mr. Mullis was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Mullis and Larry Nail.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Faye Jones Mullis of Baxley; a son & daughter in law, Christopher Garry & Ashley Mullis of Baxley; sister & brother in law, Shirley Ann & Dewey Altman of Baxley; and sister in law, Nell Mullis of Baxley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Satilla Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scottie Pitts & Ezra Varnadore officiating.

Active Pallbearers will be Travis Crosby, Eric Mincey, Stephen Mullis, Richie Altman, Andrew Livingston and Stanley Baxley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Security Officers of Plant Hatch, Ezra Varnadore, and all friends in attendance.

Remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942) or Gideons International (P.O. Box 403 Baxley, GA 31515-0403).

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
