George W. Eason

George W. Eason, age 89, of Surrency died Friday, July 15, 2016 at his residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.
Mr. Eason was born November 3, 1926 in Appling County to the late Abraham Ottis and Hannah Bell Eason. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a farmer. Mr. Eason was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Beth Molica and Flora Eason; brothers, Donald Eason, Joe Frank Eason, William Paul Eason and O.H. Eason.
Surivors include his wife, JoAnn Edwards Eason of Surrency; sons, Craig (Sonja) Eason and Louis Eason all of Surrency; three grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 17 at 3:00 PM from Bethel United Methodist Church. Mr. Eason will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Rev. David Barber will officiate.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers are James O. Barker, Randy Livingston, Frank Hunter, Ronnie Hunter, Payne Eason and Joe Eason.
