George E. Timblin, age 87 died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Timblin was born January 18, 1927 in Miami, Florida to the late George Hutchison Timblin and the late Flora May Smith Crosby. He was a member of Satilla Baptist Church and retired from Local 177 Pipefitters. He was a veteran in the United States Navy having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Ada Claire Timblin of Baxley; Two daughters & sons in law, Sheree & David Courson of Baxley and Gail & Randy Jackson of Brunswick; A son & daughter in law, Walter & Marylan Timblin of Baxley. 5 Grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from Satilla Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Davis and a eulogy by Fred Earl Wages.
Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Clifton Mincey, Randall Odum, J.F. Griffin, Aubrey Lynch, Henry Crosby, Jerry Johnson, Rocky Courson & Eric Mincey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Local 177 & adult Sunday School Class of Satilla Baptist Church.
In Lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Satilla Baptist Church Elevator Fund c/o of Polly Flood 1910 Pat Lewis Rd., Baxley, Ga. 31513
Visitation will be Friday evening 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
