Geraldine “Gerri” Spell, age 78, passed away on April 12, 2025. Born on October 14, 1946, to the late Warren Curtis Revels and Pauline Tanner Revels Taylor, Gerri lived a life defined by unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and steadfast service to her church.
Gerri was the devoted wife of the late Wilton Spell, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and fellowship. She was a beloved mother to Sheryl (Tommy) Lawrence, Shelly (Daniel) McNeal, and Steven (Tamera) Spell, and a cherished sister to Paula (Herman) Williamson, Tery (Tammy) Revels, Curtis Revels, and Randy (Sherry) Revels. Gerri’s legacy continues through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
In addition to her own children, Gerri opened her heart and home to care for several children over the years, offering them love, guidance, and a nurturing presence that left a lasting impact on their lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Sheryl Lawrence, and brothers, Curtis Revels and Randy Revels.
A faithful and lifelong member of Big Oaks Church of God, Gerri served as a Sunday School teacher for 28 years, touching countless lives with her kindness, wisdom, and spiritual guidance. Her quiet strength, gentle spirit, and loving heart will be remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Big Oaks Church of God with Rev. Mark Grimes, and Rev. Virginia Herrington. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
Active pallbearers will be Gary Horton, Joey Lewis, Cody Branch, Patrick Spell, Chris Davenport and Gene Thompkins.
Interment will follow in Zoar Cemetery.
Gerri will be dearly missed, but her memory lives on in the hearts of those she loved and served.
