Harry D. "Joe" Scott

Harry Dale "Joe" Scott, age 70, of Baxley died Monday, June 6, 2022 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Mr. Scott was born October 31, 1951 in Bacon County to the late Alex Scott and the late Myrtle Lee Wigley Scott.  He was a retired lineman and was preceded in death by two sisters, Earline Lee and Louise Crosby.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann Scott of Baxley; daughter & son-in-law, Lisa & Mitchell Yawn of Hazlehurst; son & daughter-in-law, Alex & Crystal Scott of Baxley; sisters & brothers-in-law, Glenda Hennesy of Alma, Edna & Larry Dyal of Baxley, Velma & Tommy Tyre of K’ville, Lawanda & Donald Johnson of Alma and Erma Lee Winn of Bristol; brothers & sisters-in-law, Herman Scott of Tennessee, Bennie & Phyllis Scott of Florida and Daniel & Patricia Scott of Blackshear. Grandchildren, Nathan (Kayla) Yawn, Shandale (Ryan) Taylor, Mitch (Cheyenne) Yawn, and Mason Scott; and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 at 10:00 am from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Hennesy, Kim Stone and Ronnie Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Miles Chapel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Darren Lee, Matthew Hennesy, David Crosby, Nathan Yawn, Jerry Crosby and Scotty Scott.

Visitation will be Thursday evening 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.
