HENRY COLLINS, age 93, of Dallas, Georgia died Monday, April 28, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Collins was born September 25, 1920 in Hazlehurst to the late Samuel Clarence and Rebecca Clark Collins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Walker Collins. He was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir. He was a retired auto parts manager for Cromer Chevrolet and was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Deborah & Billy Grogan of Acworth and Donna & David Englett of Dallas; sister, Arlow Eagleson of St. Augustine, FL; brother and sister in law, Corbet & Jean Collins of Lawrence, KS; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan & wife, Katie Grogan and Katie & husband, Joey Ventre; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 1, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home. Rev. Brad Park and Rev. Rick Brown will officiate.
Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Joey Collins, Sammy Walton, Glenn Yawn, Kevin Lewis, Eddie Rentz and Al Mercer.
Honorary pallbearers are Mr. & Mrs. Grady Branch, Mr. & Mrs. Darwin Crummey, Dana, Patrick and Caroline Rentz, Brenda Branch, Myrtice Stancil, and Eduardo Zavala.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, April 30, from 6 until 8 PM at Swain Funeral Home.
