Herbert Edsel "Mr. Ed" Harris

Herbert Edsel "Mr. Ed" Harris, age 88, of Baxley died Wednesday, January 15, 2014.
Mr. Harris was born June29, 1925 in Appling County and was the son of the late Frank Harris and the late Blanch Milikin Harris. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Harris served in the United State Army in World War II. He was a retired Appling County School Bus Driver and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Westberry Harris, 2 Sisters and 4 Brothers.
Survivors include his two sons & daughter-in-law, Corbitt & Judy Harris and Wayne Harris all of Baxley; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Quinn & Rev. Paul Dubberly officiating. Mr. Harris will lie in state one hour prior to funeral service.
Interment will follow in the Milikin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday evening 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Swain Funeral Home.
