Hilda Ann Branch Morris

Hilda Ann Branch Morris, age 85, of Baxley passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at her residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.

Mrs. Morris was born January 13, 1938 in Appling County to the late Aaron Branch, Sr. and the late Lura Lynn Branch.   She was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of Pine Forest Garden Club, and was a Cosmetologist.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert Franklin Morris; sisters, Wylena Lynch and Betty Quinn; brother, Aaron Branch, Jr.; and granddaughter, Jill Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail (Danny) Smith of Baxley; sons, Malcolm “Ace” Morris of Augusta, and Joffre (Angela) Morris of Baxley; and sister, Carolyn Waters of Baxley. Six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Wigley, Rev. Lamar Lee, and Rev. Fred Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Eddie Pearson, Chat Carter, Aaron Smith, Noah Smith, Matt Morris, and Ricky Branch.

Honorary pallbearers are members of the Queen Esther Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Hospice of South Georgia, Brenda Rozier and Belinda Medders.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Swain Funeral Home.
