Jack Claude Colston

Jack Claude Colston, age 92, of Baxley passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 at his residence under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.

Mr. Colston was born February 7, 1932 in Adairsville, Georgia to the late Troy Colston and the late Buena Sanders Colston. He was a member of Hazlehurst Church of Christ and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Colston was a retired barber, having worked for many years at the Fort McPherson Officers’ Barber Shop and later at Durden Barber Shop in Decatur. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Ruth McDaniel and Catherine Malone. 

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Colston of Baxley; daughter, Karla Smith of Baxley; two grandchildren, Macy (Dany) Castro and Maura Smith; and a niece, Ellen Williams and family also survive. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Lairsey officiating. Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Beck, John Beck, Shannon Davis, Bryan Twiggs, Allen Twiggs, and Jerry Norris. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
