James Rodney Rentz

June 29, 1954 — April 22, 2015

James Rodney Rentz, age 60, of Baxley died Wednesday, April 22, 2015.

Mr. Rentz was born June 29, 1954 in Appling County to the late James Harold Rentz and the late Juanita Combs Rentz. He was a member of Dunn Memorial Baptist Church and was owner & operator of Rodney's Mowing Service. Mr. Rentz was preceded in death by his brother Harold Edward Rentz.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kendra Youmans of Baxley and Amy Rentz-Rowell of Lithonia; Two granddaughters, Amberly Rentz & Kaylee Youmans and a great granddaughter, Kensley Faye Wiggins; Eight sisters, Barbara Horton of Odum, Harolyn Kent of Surrency, Glenda Bass, Lawanda "Prissy" Rentz, Cheryl Stone, Judy McDaniel, Marilyn Hall and Janice Craven all of Baxley.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. Allen Rea officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.


Active pallbearers are Clint Bass, Dino Craven, Jeff Bass, Glen McDaniel, Eddie Rentz and Justin Hall.

Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Crosby, Jerry Beasley, Bill Kicklighter, Warren Moody, H M Lott, Artis Vaughn, Altamaha Home Healthcare Staff, William Hall, Rusty & Kim Beckworth, Bill & Maxine Crosby and Robert & Joyce Churchville.


Visitation will be Thursday evening 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Swain Funeral Home, P.O. Box 536, Baxley, Ga. 31515 to help defray funeral cost.


Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
