James Timothy "Tim" Crosby

James “Tim” Crosby, age 57, of Baxley passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 at his residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. 

Tim was born February 15, 1967 in Appling County to the late Junior Clifford “John” Crosby and the late Carol Dean Williams Crosby. He was a member of Satilla Baptist Church and was a Retired Chief Ranger for the Georgia Forestry Commission. Tim was a family man and was quick witted jokester. He was a talented jack-of-all-trades. He was a hay farmer and motorcycle enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Crosby of Baxley; daughters, Crystale (Justin) Gellman of Baxley and Kayla Crosby (Sergio Arreguin) of Statesboro; brothers, Tarry Crosby, Keith (Tina) Crosby and Larry (Joyce) Crosby all of Baxley; one grandchild, Chatham Gellman; and several nieces and nephews. His beloved dogs, Pepper & Cletus, also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Crosby, Rev. Scottie Pitts, and Rev. Earl Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow in Satilla Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Tarry Crosby, Larry Crosby, Matt Hickox, Cliff Crosby, Justin Gellman and Sergio Arreguin.

Honorary pallbearers are Pete Rewis, Danny Rowe, Cliff Lewis, Andy Smith, Kerry Reese, Jeff Fariss, Ann Aldridge, all nurses & staff of Hospice of South Georgia and the doctors at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

The visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Swain Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
