James Michael Townsend

James Michael Townsend, age 65, of Baxley passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 at Harborview Health System in Jesup.

Mr. Townsend was born July 5, 1958 in Fulton County to the late James Clifford Townsend and the late Sara Kate Lott Townsend.  He was a truck driver for 25 years, a farmer, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Townsend Boone.

Survivors include his nephew, Donald Boone; great-nephew, Jackson Boone; and close cousins, Wayne & Tammie Lott and Janine & Jimmy Hunter.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Beecher and Janine Hunter officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
