J.E. Roberson

J.E. Roberson, age 59, of Baxley died Sunday, January 26, 2014 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.

Mr. Roberson was born September 11, 1954 in Appling County and was the son of the late Hovis Roberson, Jr. and the late Vera Mae Carter Roberson. He was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church where he served as Youth and Children's Director. Mr. Roberson was Assistant Chief for Red Oak Fire Department and was employed by the Appling Board of Education as a School Bus Driver.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Helen Lynch Roberson of Baxley; Daughter & Son in Law, Carrie & Matthew Gardner of Baxley; 1 granddaughter, Mattie Gardner of Baxley; 3 Sisters & Brothers in Law, Diane & J.F. Griffin, Linda & Aubrey Lynch and Jane & Don Aycock all of Baxley; Brother & Sister in Law, Stevie & Annette Roberson of Baxley; Brother in Law & Sister in Law, Dale & Lena Lynch of Baxley; 9 Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from Red Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Harris, Rev. Robbie Gill, Rev. Ron Ross, and Rev. Denny Waters officiating.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery

Active Pallbearers are Rodney Williams, Carol Waters, Danny Smith, Jerry Landmon, Donnie Head and Mike Carter.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Red Oak Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
