Jeanene Mullis McLellan, age 74, of Baxley passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Pavilion.
Mrs. McLellan was born September 6, 1950 in Appling County to the late John Thomas “J.T.” Mullis and the late Dicy Weaver Mullis. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she served as the Church Clerk and in various other capacities. Mrs. McLellan was a former member and president of the Baxley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a former caterer who was known for her cakes, especially her thin layer chocolate. She retired from the Appling County Board of Education where she was the Migrant Education Coordinator. Mrs. McLellan was preceded in death by a sister, Bonice Lee.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, David McLellan of Baxley; sons, Jeffrey (Lindsey) McLellan and Justin (Jessica) McLellan both of Baxley; granddaughters, Autumn (Donnie) Nash, Cheyenne McLellan (PJ), Madysen McLellan, and Kerstyn McLellan; grandsons, Ryder Driggers, Connor Courson, and Andrew Reynolds; sisters-in-law, Susan (David) Fennell and Denise (Bob) Tanner both of Baxley. Five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Justin McLellan, Rev. Kenyon Fennell, Rev. John Daughtry, and Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Appling Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Kelvin Fennell, Porkey Smith, Michael Tanner, Scott Weaver, Timothy McLellan and Aaron Weaver.
The visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
