Jewell Barlow Eason

Mrs. Jewell Eason age 99, of Baxley died Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Mrs. Eason was born May 1, 1915 in Bleckley County to the late Wiley Lewis Barlow, Sr. and the late Lillie Crump Barlow. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 80 years where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Mrs. Eason retired from the Appling County Board of Education and was a member of the Retired Educators. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Arthur Eason, Sr., and two sons, Thomas Timothy Eason and Thomas Arthur Eason, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter & son in law, Jewell Irene & Bobby Tuggle of Perry; 3 sons & daughters in law, William W. & Wanda Eason of Baxley, Harold B. & Dixie Eason of Blackshear & Daniel A. & Janet Eason of Gibsonville, N.C.; Brother & sister in law, Wiley Lewis & Marilyn Barlow, Jr. of Waynesboro. 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Robert Wiley Eason, Thomas A. Eason III, Stephen Davidson, Robert Tuggle, III, Mitch Crosby, William Stealy Barlow,

Honorary Pallbearers are Queen Esther Sunday School Class & all friends in attendance.

Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.
