Jimmy Music

Jimmy Music, age 69, of Baxley passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at his residence under the care of Community Hospice.

Mr. Music was born September 7, 1953 in Jeff Davis County to Joe Edward Music, Sr. and Odell Lewis Music. He was the Utilities Supervisor for the City of Baxley Public Works Department and retired after 36 years of service in 2018. Mr. Music was a member of First Assembly of God.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Alan Music, great granddaughter, Madilynn Creange; and brothers, Joe Edward Music, Jr. and Billy Music.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Music of Baxley; daughter, Sherry Music of Vidalia; sons, Stacy (Melissa) Teston, Kelly (Becky) Teston, Jim Edward (Lennie) Music all of Baxley, and John Adam Music of Lyons; sister, Johnnie Pearl Ricord of Ella Bell; brother, Ronnie Music of Baxley; grandchildren, Ken Teston, Crystal Teston, Tiffany Music, Chelsea Music, Dalton Music, Austin Music, Kristen Music, Emily Davis, Brooke Music, Samantha Teston, and Brittany Cauley; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Creange, Alan Creange, Riley McDonald, Kayden Dean, Keenan Williams, Kobe Williams, Konner Music, Jaycee Evans, Andrew Cauley, Iris Edenfield, and Bentlee Twiggs. Special niece, Gigi Cannon & her family, Shannon, Bill, Joclyne, Alex, Kye, Koy, and Margaret, also survie.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Rentz and Rev. Jinker Horton officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Dalton Music, Austin Music, Ken Teston, Bill Cannon, Michael Hutcheson, and Brian Cauley.

Honorary pallbearers will be former and current employees of the City of Baxley and the staff of Community Hospice.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
