Jimmy Lamar “Tater” Sellers, age 76, of Baxley passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Sellers was born September 21, 1947 in Jeff Davis County to the late Jimmy Lee Sellers and the late Colleen Hall Sellers. He was Church of God by faith and was a member of the Union Local 256 Savannah. Mr. Sellers was an antique collector and was a jack of all trades and liked gardening. He was preceded in death by two brothers, G.W. Sellers and Shelton Sellers.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Clara June Sellers of Baxley; children, Andy ( Brittney) Sellers, Bonnie (Roy) Poblete, Carroll (Joanne) White, Lewis (Lynn) White and Pat White all of Baxley; sisters, Geraldine McCall and Dale (Paul) Brewer both of Baxley; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Alvin Merritt and Rev. David Deen officiating. Interment will follow in Oak View Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Marcus Poblete, Stacey Sellers, Matthew Poblete, Shaun White, Chris White, and Bryce McCall.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Carpenter’s Local 256 members, Hospice of South Georgia, caregivers and a special friend, Bertie “Patsy” Giddens.
The visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
