Joan Black Davis

Joan Black Davis, age 66, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Sunday, January 29, 2023 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Mrs. Davis was born February 26, 1956 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Deward Breman Black and the late Ruth Elfrieda Herrman DeMedicis. She was a graduate of Bacon County High School and was formerly employed as a customer service representative with Wal-mart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marty Davis.

Survivors include her daughters, Nicole Davis and Melissa Davis, both of Raleigh; sister, Lorna (Paul) Lindsey of Trussville, Alabama; brother Rick (Angela) DeMedicis of Warrenville, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Mary (Fred) Barfield and Melba (the late, Drew) Herrington, both of Baxley, Georgia; brother-in-law, Mickey (the late, Sue) Davis of Baxley, Georgia; grandchildren Gianna Davis and Jonathan (Angela) Davis; and great grandchildren, Carter and Luke. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Dunn Memorial Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
