John Allison Butler,Sr. age 71, died Monday, March 2, 2015.
He was born April 25, 1943 in Appling County to the late Joel Emmett Butler and the late Susie Jemima Beck Butler. Mr. Butler was a supervisor for Hazlehurst Mills for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Leon Butler.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline P. Butler of Baxley; Daughter & son in law, Dawn & Stevie Tomberlin of Baxley; Two sons, Donald Butler & John Butler, Jr. both of Baxley; A sister & brother in law, Maggie & Bobby Moore of Palatka, Florida; Three brothers & sisters in law, Joel & Pat Butler of Jacksonville, Florida, Julian & Darlene Butler & Urell & Judy Butler all of Baxley; Sister in law, Anelda Butler of Hazlehurst; 5 grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held, Friday, March 6, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. James "Jinker" Horton & Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating.
A private committal service will follow in the Butler Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Swain Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
