John Henry Mcguirt

John Henry McGuirt, age 72, of Baxley, died Sunday, January 11, 2014, in Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA.


Mr. McGuirt was born December 21, 1941, in Wayne County and was the son of the late Daniel and Ethel McGuirt. He was a member of Friendship Congregational Christian Church. Mr. McGuirt worked with the REB Company before retiring. He was married to Bobby Johnson McGuirt and was preceded in death by his first wife, Lavanna White McGuirt. He was also preceeded in death by five brothers - Robert, Daniel, Jr.,Garland, Ronald and Clayton McGuirt.


Survivors include his spouse, Bobbie McGuirt of Baxley; one daughter - Kristy Beach of Hazlehurst; three sons - John and Scott McGuirt and Brad Vaughn all of Baxley. Mr. McGuirt is also survived by one brother George McGuirt of Fernandina Beach, FL. and 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. from Baxley Church of God with the Rev. Lamar Lee and Rev. Monty Lasseter. Interment in Omega Cemetery
